Abstract: Since I have been invited to this Conference as Chair of the Sponsoring Committee (S.C.) of the Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis Study Group I want to say only a few words of introduction about this Committee2. It is composed of a small number of I.P.A. (International Psychoanalytic Association) members who are appointed by I.P.A. to represent and act on its behalf in a given Country, where an original nucleus of at least four local analysts (that is a Study Group), already trained in the country or abroad, is ready to start its psychoanalytic activity, in collaboration with I.P.A. The goal of the S.C. is to assist and give advice to the Study Group in its progressive growth into a more and more autonomously organized group which will finally enter the International Association as a Component Society.Read moreKeywords:

Abstract: The paper aims to highlight the issue of change taking as landmark the primum movens of the psychoanalytic process. Paradoxically, the setting of the con-ditions conducive to psychic trans-formation brings the phenomenon of narcissistic regression described by Bela Grunberger, with its phantasy of retrieving the ideal ego. In Abraham and Torok's view, such a phantasy seeks unconsciously to change the external world and to keep the topic of psychism unchanged. Abstract: The imitation phenomenon in the new-born and the use of the reciprocal imitation between the mother and the baby in order to create a bond are explored in the psychoanalytic theory of the mirroring, imitation and identification. The author analyses the clinical material extracted from observing new-born babies and from the therapy conducted with two children, presents a syndrome of autism to light and reaches the hypothesis that developmental imitation involves the perception of a balanced position between the real baby and the internal occupant anticipated by the mother. According to the author, it is precisely in this way that the introjective identification and assimilation become possible, with enriching effects on the sense of identity, that oppose imitation which resorts to some sort of mimicry where the adhesive or projective identification is predominant. Abstract: This paper defines the operations that are involved in the process of empathy in the therapeutic relationship and tries to define the relationship between empathy and the therapist’s countertransference. The reasons patients come in analysis are different and various but no matter what these are, the patient’s conscious and declared purpose is to feel good and not necessarily to change.
