Abstract: Since I have been invited to this Conference as Chair of the Sponsoring Committee (S.C.) of the Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis Study Group I want to say only a few words of introduction about this Committee2. It is composed of a small number of I.P.A. (International Psychoanalytic Association) members who are appointed by I.P.A. to represent and act on its behalf in a given Country, where an original nucleus of at least four local analysts (that is a Study Group), already trained in the country or abroad, is ready to start its psychoanalytic activity, in collaboration with I.P.A. The goal of the S.C. is to assist and give advice to the Study Group in its progressive growth into a more and more autonomously organized group which will finally enter the International Association as a Component Society.
